Universal Design = intelligent design!

Overengineering is out, Universal Design is in! The handling and operation of a product must be evident at first glance, be it a coffee pot, a camera or a cupboard. Universal Design is a form of design which is both aesthetic and functional and is not complicated by superfluous details. It aims to develop products which are equally suited to young and old, big and small and handicapped and able-bodied. At ZOW in Bad Salzuflen from 9 to 12 February 2009, visitors will be able to get an idea of what Universal Design really means. Ideas from the furniture supplier industry which make a statement.

RFID Factory at ZOW 2009

Barcodes are yesterday&rsquo;s news, but RFID is the technology of tomorrow. RFID stands for Radio Frequency Identification, an identification technology based on electronic data exchange. With this technology you can quickly pinpoint the location of a product anywhere in your company without having to handle each item individually. After all, time is money! At ZOW in Bad Salzuflen from 9-12 February 2009, Horst Koitka, the managing director of Löhne-based IT company abaco, will be demonstrating together with his partners how RFID technology works. At the RFID Factory in<br/>Hall 19, exhibitors and visitors alike can discover the benefits of this innovative technology.

While markets the world over are collapsing and stock markets coming crashing down, the Chinese market is enjoying unabated growth. With annual economic growth of more than 8 % and a trade surplus of US$ 216 billion, the country is set to become an economic superpower. Shenzhen, the new boom town in Southern China, is an excellent example of this trend. China&rsquo;s first ZOW supplier trade fair for the furniture industry and interior design will run here between 19-22 March 2009 at the heart of the country&rsquo;s southern furniture province of Guangdong.

Success across the board. This year's ZOW in Moscow, which for the second time was held in parallel to Mebel at the Expocenter, featured 160 exhibitors, including a large number of Russian suppliers, and attracted around 12 800 visitors. This a 25 % increase on the previous year. Customers from the furniture industry and interior design took the opportunity to find out about the latest new fittings, surfaces, materials and semi-finished products from suppliers at the same time as attending the Russian furniture fair - the fast way to give visitors what they want. Most of the visitors to ZOW came from Russia and the former CIS States, but there were plenty of international guests in Moscow too.

ZOW Pordenone: an event even more international Innovation and design in the furniture components and accessories industry, contrasting the trend of the market crisis

The eighth ZOW exhibition at Pordenone &ndash; International Exhibition for components and accessories for the Furniture Industry &ndash; has closed this year attendance figures at the fair numbered around 20,000. Is it particularly interesting to note once again, that there is still an exceptionally high rate of international attendance at the fair, which was attended by no fewer than 8,200 visits from abroad: they made up 42% of overall entrances, an increase of 10% over the number of foreign visits to last year&rsquo;s exhibition. And the number of foreign countries represented at the fair increased as well: 96 this year, up from the 92 registered last year. Yet again, ZOW Pordenone has proved that it leads in exhibitions with high rates of international growth in Italy&mdash;an amazing achievement considering that ZOW began its history as a highly regional trade fair, and very much aimed at Italian industry.

Argentina bets for renewable energies: Biogas and Biofuels 'to cash up'

Argentina has problems of funding, this is not a secret. But it has many opportunities to get his economy off the ground, especially thanks to his food-processing richness and availability of cultivable lands. This involves the production of biomass for conversion in biogas and liquids (ethanol, biodiesel). The production and commercialization of biomass for energy (heat, transport&hellip;) is undoubtedly one of the interesting forms for Argentina to &ldquo;cash up&rdquo;.
